Started in 2005, the Ohio Celebration of Women in Computing (OCWiC) inspires and motivates college women to pursue careers in computing and promotes the recruitment, retention and advancement of technical women in both industry and academia. The next conference will be held on February 18-19, 2011 at the Mohican Resort and Conference Center, located on the shores of Pleasant Hill Lake in the Mohican State Forest, about 90 miles from Cleveland. OCWiC is a regional conference modeled after the international Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing. It has had a significant impact on its attendees as succinctly summed up by a former OCWiC participant, "It was a life-changing event for me." We would like to extend the opportunity to you to get involved.

Our OCWiC program committee works hard to keep conference costs low for the student participants. We are seeking academic and industry sponsors to help fund scholarships to cover a student's cost to attend OCWiC.
